How The Program Works
To the casual onlooker, the Art Smart Club is an entertaining event; to the philanthropist, it is a program for self-discovery and development. To the teacher, it is a supplement to an education program; to the student, it is fun! The Art Smart Club aims to combine all of these elements into a cohesive program that provides parents, teachers, and leaders with all the resources they need to establish the objectives of the Art Smart Club as a way of life.
So how does Art Smart work? The Professor and Squiggles begin by getting kids excited about creative and doing art. They teach the importance of expression and communication in art rather than focusing on aesthetic appeal. After watching the Art Smart DVD, students are ready to get started!
The Art Smart Club provides a multitude of different ideas to get them moving and practicing. Doodle workbooks, mosaic projects, stained glass activity kits, and lesson plans are just some of the ways the Art Smart Club helps leaders and teachers take the information to the next level.
To help students continue to improve, the Art Smart Club provides opportunity for leadership and goal-setting. Mentoring programs and volunteer opportunities let students of all ages be involved in the Art Smart Club. We have resources to help anyone start an Art Smart Club in their own community. Students are also encouraged to share their work with others in their class and even the country with our national Art Smart Challenge stained glass design competition.
The Art Smart Club is also a great community for teachers and educators. Teachers may read ideas and share lesson plans on our online forum. Since Art Smart was designed to meet educational standards, it is perfect for the classroom, too.
Start it, do it, teach it, share it: The Art Smart Club is about more than entertainment, a curriculum, or merchandise. It's about making a difference in children's lives through education, inspiration, and motivation.
