Art Smart Club for the Classroom
Art Smart is for teachers…
The Art Smart Club program is designed to inspire, educate, and motivate. This complete, easy-to-implement program walks you through all the steps you need to take to start and maintain an Art Smart Club. This club provides a community of students and teachers in which members can make art, discuss, and learn.
This program is also designed to help teachers meet academic standards and goals for art in schools. The Art Smart Club program includes classroom activity ideas, workbooks, an educational video, teaching kits, and much more that will dramatically decrease the amount of outside work and research that teachers have to do in order to have a successful art program.
Art Smart is for students…
The Art Smart Club program finally introduces students to a fun, painless way to learn about art. When students participate in the Art Smart program, they learn about art as a hobby, a communication tool, and an emotional outlet. Art Smart also promotes art skill development, continued practicing, and self-awareness.
One great benefit of the Art Smart Club is that it brings students together to make art, learn how to critique and discuss, and submit their work into the Art Smart Challenge contest. In the process, students learn about design, composition, and other art principles and elements-plus, they have the chance to see their work replicated in stained glass!
The Art Smart Club is a goal-oriented program that enables students to make art without worrying about the end product. It's a great way to get started!
Art Smart is for everyone!
The Art Smart Club helps everyone get involved-teachers, leaders, older students, younger students… everyone can benefit from being a member. The Art Smart club is designed to allow the adaptation of a mentoring program, a volunteer program, or countless other service opportunities. Art Smart may also be used in an art therapy or counseling approach inside or outside of the classroom. Everyone can be an Art Smart Club member!
