Art Smart Challenge

Official Rules

Participation - All artwork is based on the theme "Making the World Better." Create an original art/design concept on 11" x 17" sheet of white paper, using markers, colored pencils, crayons, paints, or other single dimensional medium/products (do not apply any additional medium to the artwork such as glitter or stickers). Absolutely no computer-aided, mechanically produced art or copies of original will be accepted. All entries must be in vertical format (up and down) and contain no verse or text.

Eligibility - By entering, all entrants accept and agree to abide by and be bound by these official rules and the judge's decisions relating to this competition. Artwork entered must be accompanied by an official entry form, signed and dated by the artist and if under legal age, by the parent/guardian on behalf of them, the child, and their heirs. By signing, all rights of origin and personal property are released to Bohm Inc. and its affiliates. Entries and other written correspondence become the property of Bohm Inc. and will not be returned. Entries must be entrant's own original work; may not have been published previously, submitted in other competitions, or have won previous awards; may not be obscene or indecent; and must not infringe the rights of any third party. Submission of an entry constitutes the entrant's and, if applicable, the parents/legal guardian's, consent to irrevocably assign and transfer to Art Challenge any and all rights, title, and interest in and to the entry including, without limitation, all copyrights. By entering, artist and parent/legal guardian consent to the use of his/her name, likeness, and address for advertising or promotional purposes without compensation.

Age Divisions - Youth- Division A: up to 7-years, Division B: 8-10 years, Division C: 11-14 years, Division D: 15-18 years, Adults: 19-60 years, Seniors: age 61 and up. Division is based on the entrant's age on December 31 of the competition year.

Monthly Winners - Judges will choose top entries monthly for publishing on www.artsmartchallenge.com. All entries will automatically be entered into the annual competition.

Judging - Within each age group, judging is based equally on expression of the theme, ingenuity, creativity, use of color, use of space, strong focal point, originality, ability to reproduce in the stained glass medium, and overall creative quality. Three winners will be chosen from each age group, and one of these will be selected as Grand Prize Winner. In the case of a tie, a tiebreaker based on 'expression of theme' will be used to determine the winner.

Prizes - Grand Prize - $2500 in cash and prizes: $100.00 Cash, Certificate of Achievement, Primary Display on Art Challenge Sculpture, Jade Crystal Award, and the grand prize entry replicated in stained glass. First Prize - $50.00 Cash, Certificate, Second Prize - $25.00 Cash, Certificate, Third Prize - $15.00 Cash, Certificate. Winning drawings are featured throughout the year in the Art Challenge Gallery and on the outdoor Art Challenge sculpture located at the River Park of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Registration Entry Fee - Registration Entry Fee is $10us for each artwork submitted and is non-refundable. (Payment will be accepted only in checks in USA or money orders. Do not send cash or credit card info)

Winners' List - Winners' names will be listed on www.artsmartchallenge.com after Jan 25 following the competition. Grand Prize Winners' artwork will also be displayed on this page.

Deadline - Entries must be received by December 31 of the competition year. Art Smart Challenge reserves the right to refuse any entries that require postage due or do not meet with the standards of the US Post Office. Entries received postmarked after Dec 31 will automatically placed in the next year's competition.
